Figure 42.1 shows the 'Configure other parameters' dialog. Here you can specify the calculation frequency, which is used for determining how often frequencies and amplitudes can be re-calculated when computing a sound. Higher calculation frequencies can improve the sound quality, but reduce performance, ie sound files will take longer to compute.

The temporary directory is used to specify a location for the generated sound files. The Kangas Sound Editor never deletes these files, maintenance of them is up to you.

The audio player command parameter is how the Kangas Sound Editor knows which audio player to invoke. The 'Use Windows Default' check-box , if checked on a Microsoft Windows operating system, will use the currently configured Audio Player - un-check this box for other operating systems. The Kangas Sound Editor looks for the string %F%, and substitutes this with the file name it is trying to play. The rest of this parameter should correspond to a command for launching the Audio Player - an example is given for the Microsoft Windows Media Player.

You also have some control over the look and feel, if you change this setting, you need to exit the Kangas Sound Editor and then restart it before the change will come into effect.
